Our Mission
To introduce nostalgic East Coast flavors to San Diego, one iconic bake at a time. We exist to give transplanted east coasters and curious Californians the fresh, joy of true Italian bakery cookies, and freshly baked apple cider donut.

Where It Started
Hi! I’m Brooke and welcome to East Coast Bakes!
I moved to San Diego in 2014, and it didn’t take long to realize something was missing: the flavors of home. The first time I mentioned missing apple cider donuts, someone asked, “What’s that?”
That’s when it clicked: the treats I grew up with didn’t exist here.
… and then I found out
Baking is my hidden talent 🤗
In 2020, like many others, I turned to baking during lockdown. I became obsessed with mastering technically challenging desserts.
Friends began requesting my desserts for their events and never made it out with leftovers.
And that’s when the idea started to take shape.

A taste of New York 🍎
ThaI grew up in Halfmoon, New York.
We took trips to NYC often, field trips to Boston, and beach vacations on the Cape. And, each stop along the east coast had its own flavor– Boston creme pies purchased at Quincy market, quaint Italian bakeries where colorful cookies were piled high and the excitement of stopping by the local orchard on the way home from work to snag a bag of apple cider donuts.
